Anthony Pettis’s recent victory at UFC 164 was a storybook journey, with the new champion overcoming a knee injury to take the fight on short notice, defeating the once dominant Benson Henderson in front of a hometown crowd. To make things even more heartwarming, Pettis then took the belt to share the moment with his father, who passed away 10 years ago.
“No matter the circumstances, u can make a positive from any situation!!! Love u pops!,” Pettis said on his Instagram.
After losing his father, Pettis turned to martial arts as a way to channel his grief into something positive. I’m sure his dad would’ve been very proud of what he’s managed to accomplish since then.
