Women’s MMA is on a meteoric rise, and not just in the UFC. Legacy FC has announced that 18-time, three division world champion boxer Holly Holm will fight at the promotion’s 24th event.
Holly Holm made her MMA debut in 2011, and has since gone undefeated in four fights, finishing each of her opponents with strikes. Most recently she made her Legacy FC debut, defeating Allanna Jones with a dramatic second round head kick.
Prior to her MMA efforts, Holm was a longtime boxing competitor, amassing an impressive 32-2-3 record over her 11 year career. As a former amateur kickboxing champion, and one of the world’s top female boxers, Holm is one of women’s MMA’s brightest prospects. If her winning streak continues at Legacy FC 24, it seems very likely that the UFC may keep a much closer eye on this potential contender.
Holm’s opponent for the event has not yet been revealed. Legacy FC 24 will take place on October 11 at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. The main card will air live on AXS TV.
