UFC’s Korean Zombie May Be Out for the Next Year due to Shoulder and Orbital Bone Injuries

Chan Sung Jung may be out quite a bit longer than expected. In his UFC 163 match up with featherweight champion Jose Aldo, the “Korean Zombie” suffered a separated shoulder and a broken orbital bone.

Due to the surgery required to repair these injuries, Jung may be looking at a full year’s worth of recovery time. The news was confirmed by MMAFighting.com with Jung’s manager Brian Rhee.

The shoulder injury took place during the fourth round, when Jung’s right shoulder popped out of place due to a missed punch. Aldo took the opportunity to end the fight a few seconds later. After the fight, doctors discovered that he had also suffered a broken orbital bone and a broken foot.

All of this comes right on the heels of a previous injury Jung sustained to his left shoulder, which had him out of commission for 15 months. All in all, it seems he just can’t catch a break.
