Johnny Bedford Injured, Replacement Found to Take On “Wolverine” at UFC Fight Night 28

Four time Bellator tournament vet Wilson Reis has officially signed to the UFC. He’ll be replacing Johnny Bedford, out with an injury, to face Hugo Viana on September 4 at UFC Fight Night 28.

Reis was released from Bellator in 2011 following a loss to Eduardo Dantas in the season 5 bantamweight tournament. Since then, he’s racked up four straight wins, including a recent victory over Owen Roddy at Cage Warriors in Scotland.  He currently holds a 16-4 record overall, including 8 wins by submissions.

Hugo Viana is currently 2-1 in the organization, most recently losing to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Melendez. The Dillashaw bout was the first loss of career, dropping him to a 7-1 record.

Fight Night 28 will be headlined by a bout between Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader at light heavyweight. It will air live on air live on FOX Sports 1.
