Probably the least talked about contender of recent times, knockout-artist Glover Teixeira is leaving a long trail of bodies in his wake as he punches his way to the top of the light heavyweight division. This man is (21-2) and on a nineteen fight winning streak, extremely impressive for a fighter in a heavier weight class. Recently, the heavy handed Teixeira proved too much for Rampage Jackson to handle, and was able to submit James Te Huna in less than three minuets. People should be talking about this guy. Many elite fighters, including Anderson Silva, have stated that he should have the next shot at Jon “Bones” Jones.

Not only is Teixeira able to knockout any man on any given night, he is actually a black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu under Luigi Mondelli and Greg Davis. He is known to grapple at a very high level, winning the 2009 Brazilian ADCC trials in the under 99 kg division, and taking second place in the 2011 Brazilian ADCC trials. Chuck Liddell refers to Glover as his protege, as they train together everyday at John Hackleman’s “Pit”, and have since the beginning of Teixeira’s career. You can see Liddell’s influence in Glover’s hard hitting striking style and the wide stance he employs. All of these attributes make this man a very dangerous opponent for Jones. Glover is a very large man, and his physical strength could prevent him from being overpowered by the champion. He has very technical yet powerful strikes, and more than enough grappling training to deal with the wrestling and clinch game that Bones employs in almost every title fight. Glover Teixeira is the whole package guys, watch out for him.
