Georges St-Pierre: ABDUCTED!

Georges St-Pierre, champion and conqueror of the UFC for over six years, undefeated in his last 11 title defenses, and possibly soon to break the record for consecutive title defenses, has a very strange obsession. He is not afraid to get into the cage with any man, he spends his days beating up professionals in the cage, and in the gym, but it’s not Johnny Hendricks he’s terrified of. It’s aliens. Thats right, Georges St-Pierre is simply terrified of being abducted by aliens. Few people have been able to get the man to comment on his strange phobia, and usually when the subject comes up he will duck the question any way he can. This first popped up when Kenny Florian announced it on Fuel Tv stating “There’s a little know fact about Georges St. Pierre, sorry Georges, is that he is deathly afraid of aliens. This guy is very scared of being abducted by aliens, so we always try to tell a story, have someone come in and say they were once abducted by aliens to really freak Georges out. That’s one of his big fears. Sorry Georges. He’s probably the best fighter in the world and he’s afraid of aliens.” This was sort of a “What” moment for MMA fans as it sort of came from left field, and everybody sort of took it a little different.

The next we heard of this came from the man himself on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where Joe heckled him over and over again trying to get him to say anything about it. After refusing multiple attempts by Joe to get him to speak, St-Pierre finally caves, saying “I hope that I’m crazy. I can’t say something happened to me. I have no proof. I just don’t know. Sometimes I am looking at the clock, and its like I wake up and the clock advanced four hours, or two hours. There is a time zone that I don’t remember what happened. Sometimes I drive my car, and I look, and its like two hours have passed like this” He snaps “Maybe I watched the wrong time, and I made a mistake myself. I feel like I didn’t fall asleep. This has been going on since I was a kid. I will talk more about this someday, I’ll talk about my fear and all of that stuff. But now I don’t want to get too deep into it. I’m doing my own research, but I promise someday I will talk about it.” Quite the cliffhanger the champion leaves us with. Quite the interesting extraterrestrial cliffhanger indeed.
