Sheila Gaff Becomes First Female Fighter Cut By UFC

Germany’s top-ranked female fighter has become the first woman to be cut from the UFC. Sheila Gaff is currently coming off of back to back losses in the organization. She most recently suffered a TKO defeat against Amanda Nunes at UFC 163, and before that another TKO loss against Sara McMann at UFC 159.

GroundandPound.de confirmed the news, although no specific details on Gaff’s current plans or opportunities were discussed.

“Disappointments and defeats belong to every fighter in this career,” Gaff stated. “But I will go on.  Most of all, I am sorry that I could not show my fans what I can really do.  In the last two weeks the love and uplifting words from many of my fans have helped.”

The 23 year old fighter is currently 10-6, and fought in the UFC’s bantamweight female division. She has previously competed for organizations such as Cage Warriors and M-1, as well as smaller promotions across Europe.
