Former Middleweight Title contender Thales Leites made his return to the UFC after 4 years outside the organization, facing Tom Watson in a grueling, bloody match. Leites had a successful run in his post-UFC career, amassing a 7-1 record that heralded his return. Both men were able to find success in the striking department, but Leites clearly had the advantage on the ground. He was able to secure several dominant positions and threaten with a rear naked choke, arm bar, and arm triangle choke. The bout left both men battered, but Watson showed tremendous heart in surviving each submission attempt to hear the final bell. Leites had an impressive showing in his return to the Octagon and should be involved in a match against a ranked opponent in the future.
