UFC Fight Night 26 Preview

UFC Fight Night 26 will take place on August 17th in Boston, MA. And this card is STACKED folks. What it lacks in legitimate contender fights, it makes up in raw exciting match ups. Headlined by two fighters who could be recognized as the most exciting strikers and grapplers in their division, respectively, Mauricio Shogun Rua takes on Chael Sonnen in the main event of the evening.

After clearing out most of the middleweight division and almost winning the middleweight title, beating Brian Stann and suffering a loss to UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, all while dishing out the best smack talk this sport has ever seen, Chael still stands in the spotlight and in the main event of  UFC Fight Night 26.

Former UFC Light Heavy Weight Champ, Shogun Rua, one of the greatest light heavyweights this sport has ever known, is fighting for relevance this night. Rua, coming off of a great knockout of Forrest Griffin, a decision loss to Dan Henderson (which was nominated for fight of the year,)  a TKO over Brandon Vera, and a loss to Alexander Gustafsson, will step into the Octagon knowing a KO over Sonnen will push him back up the ranks.

Alistair Overeem vs Travis Brown has fireworks written all over it. After looking like an unstoppable monster for six years, tearing brutally through every opponent he met, including Buentello, Mark Hunt, Brett Rogers, Todd Duffee, Werdum, and Brock Lesnar, Overeem met his match in Bigfoot Silva-getting TKO’d in the third round. Meanwhile, Travis Browne has been widely acknowledged as the next big thing for the UFC heavyweight division. However, he recently had a minor setback, losing by TKO to Bigfoot Silva but bounced back with a KO over Gabriel Gonzaga. You can bet your wallet this fight will not be going to a decision.

Also appearing on the card, will be Matt Brown taking on Mike Pyle, while Michael Johnson does battle with the always explosive Joe Lauzon.

This card is a definite buy for casual, and hardcore fans alike.
