After much delay it is confirmed Bellator 100 will take place at the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix. Ben Saunders will battle Douglas Lima in the season 8 welterweight tournament final. After withdrawing from the bout two separate times, Lima is ready to lay it on the line. He will be coming into this match with plenty of confidence as he’s already knocked out Ben Saunders once before to win the season five crown.

This night will also kickstart the season 9 welterweight tournament, where War Machine (Yes that’s actually his name) will take on Vaughn Anderson, and Matt Riddle will meet Louis Sergio Tonio da Fonseca Melo Jr (try saying that three times fast).

This comes on the coattails of War Machine’s repeated incarcerations for violent crimes, which should make you wonder why Bellator keeps him on their roster, especially seeing as they just cut Paul Daley and Maiquel Falcao for very similar incidents.

Also in this night of fights, Mark Scanlon locks horns with Herman Terrado and Brent Weedman fights Justin Baesman.

After his knockout loss to Lima, Saunders fell again in season 6 to Bryan Baker in the semifinals.  After this however, he made his way into the season 8 finals beating koffi Adzitso and Raul Amaya.

Lima’s won an incredible 12 out of 13 of his last fights, his only loss coming at the hands of the reigning champion Ben Askren. After three stoppages with Baker, Jacob Ortiz, and Michail Tsarev, Lima has more than earned his way into the finals of the Bellator season eight tournement.

This looks to be an awesome night of fights, coming from the second largest MMA promotion in the world!
