Sonnen Signs Five-Fight Contract

Sonnen’s contract with UFC is up and he announced so earlier this month at the UFC Fan Expo Q&A session. Sonnen said, “My contract with the UFC has expired. So I went to Dana White, and I went to him with a list of my demands because he’s getting my contract together. He thought this was a gag, but I was being serious because it’s not all about money with me.”

After joking with the crowd a little about his “demands” asking for things like the keys to White’s “least favorite Ferrari” his contract situation proved to be legitimate. On FUEL TV’s UFC Tonight in which Sonnen co-hosts, he put the MMA world at some ease telling all that he has signed a new five-fight deal.chael-sonnen22

Along with this news he said that he is preparing for his upcoming fight next month in which he headlines UFC Fight Night 26 against Mauricia Rua. Sonnen revealed as well that he has moved his training camp to California at Reign MMA under the tutelage of Mark Munoz. Sonnen also claimed that he plans to return to middleweight as well.

We will see if this move is the one he needs to come out ahead after coming off of two title losses against Jon Jones in light heavyweight and to Anderson Silva in the middleweight division. New location, new camp and new coach might feel like sort of a fresh start to brush off those defeats and come back at the game hard and revitalized.
