Conor McGregor Wanted Ricardo Lamas At UFC on Fox Sports 1

Talk about going big or going home, Conor McGregor is only one fight into his UFC career and he wanted a chance to take out one of the current top contenders in the UFC’s featherweight division, Ricardo Lamas. Conor grew a massive following of fans after his debut against Marcus Brimage. He was able to win impressively and  made a huge name for himself with his suits and his Irish accent.

His last opponent had to pull out of the fight with Conor McGregor and a bout with Lamas would be great but unfortunately the UFC doesn’t feel that McGregor is ready for a bout of this magnitude. He’s still young and the UFC is trying to build him up slowly. He discussed his thoughts with MMA Junkie:

“I wanted Rircardo Lamas.I want the belt. The title is what I’m after.”

Sean Shelby has different ideas.

“Don’t be in a hurry, he was saying,” McGregor recalled.

Looks like we will just have to wait and see what’s in store for the career of Conor McGregor. One thing is for sure, we know that he’s a fighter to look out for and should have quite a successful career in the UFC.
