Daniel Cormier And Roy Nelson In The Works For UFC 166

Both Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson have been looking for a bout against each other for quite some time and it looks like the UFC is on board with this decision. Roy Nelson recently lost his last bout against Stipe Miocic. He took the bout on short notice and Daniel Cormier believes that Nelson’s standing in the division is not hurt by the loss.

Daniel Cormier made his UFC debut against former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. He’s looking for one last bout at heavyweight before making his way towards the light heavyweight division. They have both been going at it on twitter and it looks like this fight is extremely close to becoming a reality.

UFC 166 is already having the trilogy bout between heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos. Having Cormier and Nelson in the co-main event would make for an explosive card.

The UFC is looking to make the second half of the year just as big, if not bigger then the first half of the year. Daniel Cormier wants a shot at light heavyweight and eventually a bout against Jon Jones. If he’s able to convince Nelson to resign with the UFC, then he will get to witness four of the top heavyweight fighters compete in one massive card.

UFC 166 takes place in Houston, Texas and looks like it will end up being an awesome card for fight fights.

Houston we don’t have a problem.
