The UFC goes all out when it comes to their new years event. We are only mid way through the year but it looks like UFC 168 could end up being the biggest show yet. There’s only two fights confirmed for the card so far, but they are huge ones. Anderson Silva will be competing against new UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will settle their rivalry in the co-main event.
There’s no love lost between Rousey and Tate. They currently finished their recording of the next season of The Ultimate Fighter and Dana White has been adamant about the bad blood and the hatred that these two athletes have towards each other. They have competed against each other before in Strikeforce. Rousey ended up winning the bantamweight championship against Tate in one of the most successful cards in Strikeforce history.
With the battle of Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, it’s all about respect. Chris Weidman defeated Anderson Silva and shocked the world to win the UFC middleweight championship. Unfortunately, the lack of respect that Anderson had during the fight leaves a lot more questions than answers.
There’s no doubt that the crowd in Las Vegas on December 28th for UFC 168 will be in for a treat as four of the best athletes in the world will look to come home with UFC gold in their grasps. Regardless of the rest of the card, these two fights will no doubt bring the house down and make for one of the best cards the UFC has ever produced.
