The Ultimate Fighter Bringing Its Way To China


The Ultimate Fighter has been a house hold name for quite some time in the states and UFC’s plan to take over the world in martial arts continue to expand. They have held TUF show in Australia, England, and now are making their way to China.

China is a huge potential market for the UFC. A successful season of The Ultimate Fighter will create amazing opportunities for the organization in the future.

According to their report, ‘The Ultimate Fighter: China’ will be auditioning featherweight, lightweight and welterweight fighters of Chinese descent who are capable of speaking the language. However, tryouts are not exclusive to mainland China. Three different events are going to be held to recruit talent: July 21st at the Metropark Lido Hotel in Beijing, July 25, at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, and August 3 at the Venetian Hotel in Macau.

The process is still the same. 16 fighters competing for a 6 figure UFC contract. The finale is expected to take place at the Venetian Hotel in Macau.

The show will be broadcast on LioNingTV, one of Chinese’s pay satellite nationwide networks. There is no word on when the program would begin airing.

There’s currently no word as to who will fill the role of coaches for this season. There are only two UFC fighters currently on the roster. Jumabieke Tuerxun and Zhang Tiequan.

Perhaps a season involving Cung Le and another middleweight could be in store? We will keep you up to date.
