Ronda Rousey is already the biggest female mixed martial arts fighter on the planet. She’s continuing to excel as a UFC champion and will coach the next season of The Ultimate Fighter against her arch rival Miesha Tate. There are already rumblings coming out about the hatred that these two share for each other during the upcoming season. Ronda has one fighter who she tries to resemble come fight night and it happens to be the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time.
During a Metro PCS fan chat she explained who she tries to be like in the cage:
“My favorite fighter to watch ever I would say is Fedor Emelianenko. He’s always going to be my favorite. It was the first highlight reel I ever saw of MMA. I loved his style and how he came from a Judo-Sambo background, and I really try to emulate his style every time that I fight.”
There’s nothing wrong with that. Fedor was amazing during his time in Pride. He had legendary battles with the likes of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Mirko Cro Cop. Unfortunately because of his management M-1 Global, we were never able to witness his abilities in the octagon.
Ronda is already a superstar in her own right, but following the footsteps of a mixed martial arts legend is never a bad thing for your career.
What do you guys think?
