Texas is getting a big fight in October. Dana White announced that Junior Dos Santos and Cain Velasquez will have their epic trilogy bout in Houston, Texas in October. They are clearly the two best heavyweight in the division and will go for a third time.
Junior Dos Santos defeated Cain Velasquez for the UFC heavyweight championship back at UFC on Fox 1. He was able to defeat him with a knock out blow 64 seconds of round number one. He successfully defended his championship once, defeated two time heavyweight champion Frank Mir at UFC 164.
Cain was able to rebound from the loss to JDS. He thoroughly destroyed monstrous heavyweight Antonio “Big Foot” Silva, leaving him in a pool of his own blood once the bout was over.
They met in a rematch at UFC 155 and Cain was able to shut down the boxing of Junior and take full control of the fight. There was no doubt as to who the winner was in the rematch and Cain was awarded the unanimous decision.
These two fighters won their lasts bouts respectively by knock out. Junior almost knocked off Mark Hunt’s head in their clash at UFC 160 with a beautifully times spinning back kick. Cain met Antonio Silva in a rematch that no one was asking for. He was able to defeat him even faster the second time and left no question mark as to who the better fighter is.
This is a great heavyweight title match. These two have performed well against each other before and we finally get to decide who the best heavyweight is. Who’s excited for this heavyweight clash?
