Conor McGregor is a man on a mission. He has pretty high goals for himself in the UFC, but with the way his career started out there’s a chance he can successfully complete them.
He’s looking at making himself a household name. There’s one legend that he would love to be viewed in the same light as: Anderson Silva.
He recently discussed his views with Irish outlet Independent.
“It makes no difference who I fight. It will be the same outcome. First round and it will be over. It’s not going past a minute. My US debut…it’s going to be insane … By the time I’m 30, I’ll be the pound-for-pound champion and I’ll be considered in the same light as Anderson Silva. That’s six years from now … I’m doing this to secure my family’s future. I don’t have kids right now, but when I do decide to I want them to come into a good life.”
Looks like he’s just trying to secure his future. Nothing wrong with that. Conor became an instant fan favorite after his knockout win over Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV 9. The sky is the limit for this young featherweight but are his goals too lofty?
What do you think? Can McGregor become the next Anderson Silva? We will just have to wait and see for ourselves.
