It would seem that Rashad Evans has plenty of pressure going into his bout with Dan Henderson at UFC 161. Just don’t let him know that.
During the UFC 161 media conference call today, Rashad was asked about the pressure of being in the main event and his current two fight losing streak.
Rashad knows that fans have a short term memory and you’re only as good as your last fight. Fighting an athlete like Dan Henderson is no easy task but Rashad believes he fixed his mistakes in his last bout with Rogerio Noguiera at UFC 156 and is ready to put on a show for the fans in Winnipeg.
Dan Henderson also understands how important this fight is for his career. He’s not letting the stinging loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 157 play a factor in his bout with Evans. He knows not to overlook Rashad but if victorious, he’d love to get a shot at Jon Jones and the UFC light heavyweight championship.
There’s unfinished business between these two performers. These two were suppose to compete at UFC 151 but unfortunately Henderson had to back out because of an injury. It led the entire event being cancelled and it’s still an intriguing bout for fight fans.
These two future hall of famers are looking to revive their careers at UFC 161. Which one do you think will come out on top?
