Fabricio Werdum is one of the most under-appreciated heavyweights currently on the UFC roster. He’s made his way back into the UFC after a successful career in Strikeforce. He’s also competing against legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC on Fuel TV 10.
Where’s the talk about him getting a title shot? There is none.
Fabricio was the man who handed Feder Emeliananko his first decisive loss ever and isn’t being considered to compete for the heavyweight championship against Cain Velasquez. People say that he did lose to Junior Dos Santos back at UFC 91, but a lot has changed since then.
Fabricio has competed with the best in the world and has done pretty well for himself. What’s crazy is that fans are calling for Roy Nelson to get a shot at the belt but the last guy to defeat him hasn’t even gotten his shot at the gold yet.
Everyone is talking about Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez 3 and they should. Both are in the prime of their careers and a trilogy bout would do huge numbers for the UFC. There should be no question as to who gets the next shot after their fight is over. Werdum.
There’s a good chance that Werdum comes away the a victory next weekend. How much longer will he have to wait before he gets the title shot that he rightfully deserves?
