WSOF is trying its best to compete with the big leagues of mixed martial arts. They have some popular talent in their organization. Fighters Jon Fitch, Josh Burkman, and Anthony Johnson all call World Series of Fighting their home. WIll it get mainstream attention to be a huge success or will it become a flop?
It seems that their recipe for success is taking all of the fighters that used to be UFC fighters and when they get released. Giving them a home with their organization.
The problem with this decision is WSOF is banking on fighters that the UFC deem as not marketable or not worthy of currently being an active UFC fighter.
One way for them to fix this problem is by having having their “future” stars compete against the former UFC athletes to gain some more name recognition and media.
WSOF has a long way to go before being compared to the UFC. If they can make some necessary tweaks to their current format and in time they could work their way up the promotional ladder.
Only time will tell if this organization has what it takes to compete with the big boys.
