MMAfighting revealed last week why Cris Cyborg didn’t want to compete against Ronda Rousey at UFC 157.

“While (match weight) was at the center of most conversations in the media regarding the inability to make the Cyborg-Rousey fight, it was not the deal-breaker it’s been reported to be.

During the ongoing negotiations, which lingered for about two months, the promotion agreed to pay for the services of a dieting and nutrition consultant like Dolce. But there were other points that the two sides could not agree on.

The biggest issue, according to Cyborg’s management firm Primetime 360, was Zuffa treating Cyborg as a bit player rather than an event co-star.”

Cyborg might be one of the best fighters in the world. The only issue is that she doesn’t have the star power that Rousey has. Will we ever see this women’s super fight?

In the sense this is their career, wanting more money can be understandable but was having their diet and nutrtion consultant include the hefty bill for the groceries as well?

Cyborg just doesn’t have the leverage that she thinks that she does. Bottom line, Rousey is the champ and Dana has shown time and again that he will spoil his champions to no end. Cyborg needs to fall in line and deal with it like everyone else. She should be happy that they signed her when she doesn’t even fight in the weight class as the rest of the women and she already has a strike for juicing.
