Shane Carwin has decided to call it quits. He recently went to twitter to announce his retirement.

Officially retired 2day:-) thank you to my family, friends and fans! GOD BLESS!!!

Shane Carwin defeated Frank Mir at UFC 111 to win the UFC Interim Heavyweight title. He was later defeated by Brock Lesnar in a thrilling title unification bout at UFC 116.

He’s been dealing with multiple injuries the past couple years. It’s a good time for him to continue working as a mechanic and let the younger fighters work their way up the UFC ladder.

Pretty sure he’s an enginner, not a mechanic.

That match between him and Lesnar was a great one. Good to see him retire on his own time!
