The UFC 162 fight card lineup is now set. This fight card is headlined by middleweight champion Anderson Silva defending his title against Chris Weidman.

Weidman looks to become the first man to defeat Silva inside the octagon. With the lack of current contenders in the middleweight division. Weidman earned his shot by defeating Mark Munoz at UFC on Fuel TV 4. Anderson plans to continue his streak and defeat the young and hungry contender.

The co-main event of the evening is Frankie Edgar vs Charles Oliveria. Edgar is looking to get back into the winner’s circle. Edgar lost  to Jose Aldo in his last outing and going 1-3-1 in his last five fights, all of those fights were title fights. Charles Oliveria recently lost to Cub Swanson at UFC 152 and is looking to regain some momentum. The winner of this fight can work their way back to title contention.

Roger Gracie will be taking on Tim Kennedy in a high stakes middleweight clash. Roger Gracie recently defeated Anthony Smith by arm-triangle choke and Tim Kennedy defeated Trevor Smith by guillotine choke at the final Strikeforce event. Both are looking to keep their relevance in the highly competitive middleweight division.

“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung’s fight with Ricardo Lamas is a pivotal featherweight contenders bout. Both fighters have been overly impressive as of late. The winner could find themselves against the winner of Jose Aldo and Anthony Pettis title fight in August. Jung currently has a three-fight winning streak. He is also known for being the first mixed martial artist to pull off a twister submission. Lamas currently beat two of the top contenders in the division Hatsu Hioki and Erik Kock. Needless to say, both fighters want a shot at being the champ.

Another high stakes featherweight bout opens up the main card, Cub Swanson competes against Dennis Siver. Swanson is currently on a four-fight winning streak and recently defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC on Fuel TV 7. Dennis Siver is currently on a two-fight winning streak since dropping to featherweight and defeated Nam Phan at UFC on Fox 5.
