UFC Cheick Kongo No More

With Cheick Kongo’s recent loss against Roy Nelson at UFC 159, the UFC recently indicated it would not let Kongo back into the octagon. Kongo sported a UFC record of 11-6-1, only losing to top opposition like Frank Mir, Cain Velasquez, and Roy Nelson.

The UFC wasn’t joking when they announced that more cuts were coming in the future. Kongo was with the UFC for over seven years and has been competing with the best. His highlight took place at UFC on Versus 4, coming back from near unconsciousness to knock out heavy hitter Pat Barry.

Kongo’s future remains to be seen. Hopefully he can win a few fights on the regional scene and earn his place back in the octagon.
