UFC can’t seem to get rid of loud mouthed Chael Sonnen and why would they want to?
The guy brings in ratings and ratings mean money. But fans think he’d be a better commentator than a fighter. Sonnen left UFC 159 “heartbroken” getting defeated by Jon Jones by TKO. You could say he got a taste of his own ground and pound medicine.
But Sonnen hasn’t thrown in the towel yet as he mentioned during his second job, UFC Tonight. He’s not retiring until he gets one more fight with Wanderlei Silva.
“Wanderlei called me out before, but the fight never made sense. Now it does. I’m not going anywhere until me and Wanderlei straighten this thing out once and for all. Wanderlei pulled a dirt bag move on me one time. He said something to me that I couldn’t hear, and then put it on YouTube with subtitles because he knew I couldn’t understand it and called me out. If you’re a fighter, that doesn’t fly.”
It seems like Sonnen’s holding on to that last bit of his UFC career. He’s rehashing old things fighters have said and making it a big deal. He hadn’t said anything about Silva before. Now it’s a big deal?
We predict Silva’s response will be somewhere around the one he gave Sonnen last summer… It starts with a ‘F’ and ends in ‘you.’
