Georges St-Pierre could have a superfight with Anderson Silva
“Maybe he wants to fight Anderson if Anderson wins.” Dana White said today at the media scrum for UFC on FOX 7.
But what about Johny Hendricks? The No.1 contender in the welterweight division.
Georges St-Pierre would have to move up in weight if this were to happen. Silva meets with his No.1 contender Chris Weidman at UFC 162.
This superfight has been talked about for years and Dana White isn’t going to be the person to say no to it. “If Georges says to me, ‘I want to fight Anderson Silva,’ you think I’m going to go, ‘No you’re not – you’re fighting Johny Hendricks. We’ll talk about that later’?”
But Georges has said if he were to go up in weight, it’d be the end of his time at 170 lbs. White says different, “He’d still be welterweight champion. He could go down to fight Hendricks for the title.”
But is that fair to other fighters? It goes back to a previous article about how the UFC ignores their own rankings.
Georges indicated that he wants to fight Hendricks, but that could all change when he talks to Dana White.
