The UFC finished off it’s season of The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale Saturday April 13th with some great final fights.
Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen were the main event for that card. Faber ended up taking out Jorgensen in the fourth-round with a submission against the bantamweight contender. This was Fabers second victory over a span of 49 days.
One of the biggest battles that evening wasn’t the men, it was the women. Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano knew exactly what was on the line when they went into the octagon that evening. Who ever won would get a chance to be the next coach on TUF 18 and have a bout with none other than Ronda Rousey.
This fight was a good one! These ladies went at it and really showed Dana White how profitable women being in the UFC can be.
Zingano came out on top after throwing 3 massive knees to Tate’s “Cupcake” face making referee Kim Winslow call the fight.
Out of the show we had Kelvin Gastelum and Uriah Hall as the leading contenders. Both gave a great performance in the octagon, but Gestelum came out on top earning the six-figure UFC contract. Gastelum is one of the youngest fighters to compete in the show and was the underdog at that.
Travis Browne squared off with Gabriel Gonzaga as the heavyweight bout on the Finale card. Browne had a massive first round knock-out when he threw elbows at Gonzaga while pressed up against the cage.
Even with a loss, Uriah Hall is still considered to be a top-10 middleweight and people are wanting him to go up against Anderson Silva. This may be a little pre-mature, but lets have Hall get a few more fights under his belt then throw him in the ring with a great.
