GSP Admits He Was Over 170 Pounds At UFC 158!

In the words of the beloved Gomer Pyle, USMC, “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!”  Georges St. Pierre admitted to the French Canadian newspaper that he thinks he weighed in at 170.4 for his Welterweight title fight with Nick Diaz at UFC 158.

Ontario rules aside, this admission highlights a grossly unfair system of measurement for title fights in Canada.  If the UFC is going to continue having fights there then they need to revise the universal rules for title fights to allow for 1 lb weight allowance.

Regardless of that, it is fairly obvious that even if Nick Diaz doesn’t stand a chance at winning a rematch, he should be entitled to one based on UFC rules alone.

We will let the attorney’s settle this, however we just don’t know why GSP would make such an admission now and how the Diaz camp will react to the news.
