Career Advice For The UFC (Fuel TV 9) Main Card Winners

With UFC on Fuel TV 9 in the books, many are wondering what’s going to happen next for the winners. Here is our advice to them.

Akira Corassani: He showed improved wrestling skills and his striking also improved tremendously. Here’s an idea, fight TUF Brazil champion Rony Jason on an upcoming card.

Diego Brandao: While he slowly moves back up in rankings, since his loss to Darren Elkins, he should fight the winner of Bart Palaszewski and Cole Miller at TUF 17 finale.

Brad Pickett: Boxing and wrestling are his staples, as demonstrated in his fight with Mike Easton. If he wants to make his way to a title shot, there are only two fights he should consider: Michael McDonald or the winner of Uriah Faber and Scott Jorgensen.

Matt Mitrione: A good fighter for sure, but he’s had a late start to the game. At 35 it would make sense to stop focusing on the top competition, and taking a fight with Todd Duffee.

Ross Pearson: Patience is a big advantage as evidenced by his bout with Ryan Couture.  By capitalizing on punches he was able to get the knock out. Now on a two winning streak a fight between the winner of KJ Noons and Donald Cerrone at UFC 160 could be the barnburner he needs.

Gegard Mousasi: Technically sound and confident Latifi didn’t stand a chance. Mousasi should get that fight with Gustaffson once the Swede is cleared by his doctors.
