Shinya Aoki was looking to avenge MMA teammate Zorobabel Moriera’s loss to Kotetsu Boku and boy did he get some revenge. It was thorough dominance from Aoki as he was able to transition into different submission attempts throughout the fight. Boku had nothing in his arsenal to stop Aoki from finally finishing the fight with a rear naked choke 2:01 of round two.

Aoki was extremely emotional after the fight, while he was thanking his coaches over at Evolve MMA as they have their first championship under Chatri Sityodtong’s tutelage.

The co-main event started off slow as UFC veteran Brock Larson was able to pull off the upset against Dutch knockout artist Melvin Manhoef by earning a unanimous decision. Both fighters were in dire need of a win as they hope to eventually fight for the vacant One FC Middleweight Championship.

Jens Pulver’s hopes of winning another championship will be put on hold as he was finished with a d’arce choke 3:52 of the second round against Masakatsu Ueda. Jens has always been a fan favorite from his time in the UFC and the WEC. Is now the time for Jens to retire or do you think he has it in him to climb up the One FC bantamweight rankings once again?
